THE EUROPEAN FILM FESTIVAL ALONG WITH THE NATIONAL CENTRE FOR SHORT-FILMS AND IN AGREEMENT WITH THE DIRECTOR’S FAMILY, HAS INSTITUTED AN AWARD IN MEMORY OF EMIDIO GRECO TO BE ASSIGNED TO A YOUNG ITALIAN AUTHOR (AGE LIMIT: 35 YEARS) WHO HAS BEEN DISTINGUISHED FOR THE MAKING OF A SHORT FILM PRODUCED IN THE YEAR PRECEDING THE ONGOING EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL.
Emidio Greco, hailing from Puglia, a member of the Promoter Committee of the CNC, a member of the Committee of Guarantors of the European Film Festival, which has dedicated to him a complete retrospective in 2011, was present at Lecce in all editions.
The Selection Committee consists of Jacopo Chessa (Director of National Centre for Short- Films), Lia Furxhi (President of AIACE Nazionale) and Alberto La Monica (Director of the European Film Festival); the Jury consists of the Greco Family.
The 4 finalists who will compete for the second edition of the Emidio Greco Award are:
– Cristina Picchi in ZIMA
– Simone Rovellini in C’EST LA VIE
– Alexander Stevanon in AMERICA
– Michele Vannucci in BORN TO RUN
The winner will be awarded in Lecce by Alessando Greco, the son of Emidio, Saturday, May 3, 2014.
The previous edition was won by Gabriele Mainetti in TIGER BOY.
