CRITICAL NOTE

“(…) Bellocchio highlights his special attention to complex and sometimes intricate psychologies, due to the contradictory of the human soul, to the love-hate relationship that is established between those who command and those who obey. All issues that will be hereafter discussed and examined in depth, by becoming central to the works such as Victory March, In the Name of the Father, A Leap in the Dark, for example. But also small signs can give a sense to the beginning of a path”. (Giancarlo Zappoli, Le forme della ribellione. Il cinema di Marco Bellocchio)
