Summer 1964: a group of middle-class friends are spending their holidays on the coast of Versilia. They include: the two young Pucci marquises, who are from Tuscany and perfectly similar to each other; Maurizio, from Rome, who’s always eating; Gianni, from Genova, the intellectual of the group, who prefers a good book to the usual beach games; Selvaggia, Gianni’s girlfriend; Giorgia, the youngest of the group; the Carraro family from Milan; Luca, always in the mood for jokes; Felicino, who has brought a little English girl, Susan; the Pinardi family from Naples, for the first time on holiday in Versilia, made up of the father, his wife and their two children Marina and Paolo, who’s the wimp of the group; and then we have Cecco, a photographer, always ready to capture every situation. Their personal stories combine against the musical backdrop of the hit songs of those days.

“The tradition of Italian comedy has found a family heir. It is Carlo Vanzina, son of Steno, who on his ninth film has hit the bowl with this kind of “Italian graffiti”, smart but honest, which moves away from the cinematic cabaret, sadly so popular.” (Laura and Morando Morandini, Telesette)
