The 19th edition of the Festival del Cinema Europeo, directed by Alberto La Monica, was held in Lecce from 9th to 14th April 2018 at the Cinema Multisala Massimo. 

Produced by Apulia Film Commission Foundation and funded by Puglia Region and Patto per la Puglia programme (FSC, Fund for Regional Development and Cohesion), the Festival del Cinema Europeo is conceived and organized by the Cultural Association “Art Promotion” with the support of the Municipality of Lecce and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism – Directorate General for Cinema.

Festival del Cinema Europeo, recognized by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage as an “event of national interest”, is a member of the Association of Italian Film Festivals and has the patronage of the European Parliament, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Experimental Film Centre), S.N.G.C.I., FIPRESCI, S.N.C.C.I., Centro Nazionale del Cortometraggio (Italian National Short Film Centre), Agiscuola. 

The Festival aims to act as an intermediary between different cultures and film languages, becoming a potential means of promotion of European cinema.
