Halla, 50, leads a choir in Reykjavik. She is extremely attached to her beloved Iceland and its exceptional natural beauty, and isdeeply concerned about global warming and environmental disasters. She is particularly horrified at plans to expand an aluminiumplant. In secret, she sabotages a high-voltage power line in an attempt to bring the plant to a standstill and raise public awareness ofthe issue. Her clandestine activities are interrupted, however, by a piece of news she had long given up hope of ever hearing…

“There is a strange culture of denial and procrastination relating to this issues. We have to change our lifestyles, and that’s a big challenge for our generation. Women save the world all the time. Their strategies sometimes are different from those adopted bymen. Nowadays, the world needs to be saved, and women are often on the frontline of the fight for environmental protection. We arethe last generation that can do something about climate change. If we don’t do anything about it, it will be too late for our children.”
