Closing day of the 20th edition of the European Film Festival directed by Alberto La Monica, with Nino Frassica protagonist together with Carlo and Silvia Verdone, who will award the Prize dedicated to their father, this year on its 10th edition.
Frassica, who has been an icon of Italian comedy for over thirty years on TV, radio and cinema, loved by generations of Italians who knew him in Renzo Arbore’s shows and still follow him in his TV series, quoting his jokes and the figures he created with great inventiveness, at 5 pm tomorrow, Saturday 13th April, at Liberrima all’Ombra del Barocco, with free admission, will meet the audience together with Marco Giusti and then receive the Silver Olive Tree for his contribution to the New Italian Comedy.
The programme of the day starts at 6 pm (room 2), with the last Cinema and Reality screening, the premiere of the documentary Selfie by Agostino Ferrante. Traiano quarter, in the outskirts of Naples: the friendship between Alessandro and Pietro is scarred by the memory of the death of Davide, a friend of theirs killed following a chase. Agostino Ferrente gives the two boys an iPhone and encourages them to talk about themselves, their life, their dream of a better future, the memory of that tragic event. A film that was met with enthusiastic reception at the last edition of the Berlinale. After the screening, director Agostino Ferrente and producer Gianfilippo Pedote, will meet the audience with Luciana Castellina.
During the awarding ceremony (at 8 pm in room 1), the winners of this edition will take the stage together with the authorities and all those who have contributed to the making of this edition.

Larsson and Georgios Papadimitriou for the Fipresci Award; Stefan Kitanov, Stefan Laudyn, Stefan Uhrik for the Cineuropa Award; Laura Delli Colli for the SNGCI Award for Best European Actor; Giovanni Robbiano, Alessia Barela, Corrado Azzolini, the jury of the Puglia Show Short Film Competition, for the CNC (National Short Film Centre) Award, Augustus Color Award; Maria Federica Lo Jacono and Manuela Rima for the Rai Cinema Channel Award for Puglia Show; the Jury composed by the students of the University Cineclub for the Unisalento Award; directors Ciro D’Emilio, Damiano and Fabio D’Innocenzo, Margherita Ferri, and Carlo, Silvia Verdone for the Mario Verdone Award; Alessandro Greco for the Emidio Greco Award.
