SYNOPSIS
Antonis Titsanis and Christos Fertakis are two friends who live together in a small apartment in Athens. In distress and secluded from society, they survive mostly with Christos unemployment benefit.
The two friends are united by their common, platonic love interest for Laura Durand, a pornstar of the ‘90s who disappeared mysteriously several years ago.
When things go from bad to worse, the two friends decide to go up against their fate and start the pursuit to find her. At the same time, they are entering into a fully-fledged, rock ’n’ roll Odyssey (including Lotus Eaters, Cyclopes, Penelopes et al) where film clichés intervene and eventually take over the story.

DIMITRIS BAVELLAS

THE DIRECTOR: Dimitris Bavellas was born in 1976 in Neos Kosmos, Athens. He studied film directing at the Stavrakos Film School in Greece, and obtained his MA with distinction in film and moving image production from the Northern Film School in Leeds, UK. His debut feature Runaway Day had its world premiere in the Competition of the 19th Sarajevo International Film Festival, and was screened at more than 40 festivals around the world, receiving several awards along the way. In the Strange Pursuit of Laura Durand, his second feature-length film, had its premiere in the Official Competition of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in 2019.
