SYNOPSIS

“Till death do you part…” What if, instead of death, a judge separated you and declared your marriage null and void after discovering that the priest who married you was not a real priest? If you had to say “I do” again, years after the first time, how would you react? This is what happens to many couples, who discover that they have never been actually married. There are four couples in particular whose intertwined stories we will follow with more interest, with the tension growing as the fateful day of their renewed promise of eternal love approaches. The second fateful “I do” will mark the beginning of a new life for everyone.

THE DIRECTOR: PAOLO COSTELLA

Director and screenwriter. Born in Genoa in 1964, he started to work in 1984 as an assistant director on The Future Is Woman by Marco Ferreri, with whom he also co-wrote The Flesh (1991). He was an assistant director for Enrico Oldoini, Carlo Verdone and Christian De Sica as well. He made his directorial debut in 1999 with All the Moron’s Men. He also directed TV series I love you Ornella (1995), the second season of Dio vede e provvede (1996) and Il commissario Raimondi (1998). For the screenplay of Perfect Strangers (2016), co-written with Filippo Bologna, Paolo Genovese, Paola Mammini and Rolando Ravello, he won a David di Donatello Award and the Award for Best Screenplay in an International Narrative Feature Film at the Tribeca Film Festival and Cairo FF.
