Synopsis
This is the story of two couples: Lea and Andrea, both in their thirties, and Rocco and Cecilia, who are in their fifties. Their lives intersect one evening when Lea meets Rocco in a bar and begins a clandestine affair with him, conducted in the anonymity of a hotel room. On the surface, it appears to be a betrayal like many others, but it takes an unexpected turn when Lea starts to insinuate herself into Rocco’s life, ultimately drawing both of their partners into a final confrontation.

director statement
“I sought to observe these four characters from a distance, like an ant-keeper watches his ants in the display case: creatures that scurry about, unaware that the world does not end in that Plexiglas box. I recounted their stories without judgment, seeing myself reflected in each of them, because we have all betrayed, been betrayed, or been the other woman, the other man. And within this twisted triangle, I wanted to create a bond between the two women in which one saves the other, giving her another perspective and the tools to escape from the display case in which she has restricted her horizons. In the end, I realized that the only possible attitude in the face of mystery is to accept it: the existence of the other, their intimate, desiring, and secret life, as well as your own. And that life as a couple is, as in the opening scene, a game of chess in which no strategy can save you from getting punched in the face, resulting in shed blood.”
