When Maria returns from her summer vacation, she is finally noticed by the boy she likes, who through Sergio, a schoolmate, asks her if she wants to sleep with him. It’s not the most romantic proposal, but Maria accepts immediately. Meanwhile, Francesca,Sergio’s mother, is radically changing her perspective on her life, getting closer and closer to her friend Debora, with whom she iscreating a new and more authentic relationship. One evening, she confesses this to her doctor, Guglielmo, whom she met by chancein a bar. Ever since his wife left him, he has lived in a bubble of apathy where the only real contact appears to occur with Ana, ayoung prostitute he regularly sees, who, despite life’s difficulties, has kept her desire to dream.
