SPARC “Creativity Hubs for Sustainable DeveloPment through the VAloRization of Cultural Heritage Assets” aims to develop an ecosystem of infrastructures give value to the natural and cultural heritage, facilitating the development of sustainable tourism, achieved through the development of collaborations and synergoes between the tourism sector, cultural creative industries and local SMEs, promoting growth and innovation. Puglia Region – Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Valorization of Territory is project partner together with the Municipality of Patra (Lead Partner), the Region of Western Greece, the Chamber of Achaia and the Apulian Public Theatre Consortium.
The main objective of the project is to sustainably enhance the natural cultural heritage of Greece and Italy by increasing the level of attractiveness of the territories involved from a sustainable tourism perspective, through the transfer of know-how, access to networking opportunities, the development of links with the innovation system and the realization of business plan for the start up creation.
To achieve the objective, SPARC is realizing 3 “Creative Hubs”, that is service centers to provide cultural enterprises with diversified services of tourism products that contribute to sustainable tourism for the enhancement of the natural cultural heritage of the cross-border area, such as financial, management and technical services.

Project duration: 30.05.2018 – 31.12.2020 (31 months)

In the spirit of SPARC project, in addition to the online roundtable “Puglia meets Greece – Comparison between the cinema protagonists (institutions, stakeholders and operators) of the two territories”, the feature film In the Strange Pursuit of Laura Durand by Dimitris Bavellas produced by Lina Yannopoulou, Vox Productions, and the 10 shorts movies by young Greek and Apulian directors produced by Apulia Film Commission Foundation within CIAK project (funded by the INTERREG Greece-Italy 2014/2020 Programme) have been Italian premiered:
