The 2026 edition of the European Film Festival presents a competition featuring 11 works from across Europe — selected by Alberto La Monica and Luigi La Monica — all making their Italian premieres and each exploring, in its own distinctive voice, the fractures within love, family and personal identity.

From France, Germany and the Netherlands to Ukraine — via Spain, Portugal, the Balkans and Lithuania — a mosaic of stories emerges in which intimacy becomes a battleground, but also a place of rebirth, against the backdrop of a Europe reflecting on itself: mothers and fathers who have lost their way, children searching for direction, and relationships that are falling apart yet continue to pulse with life.
