synopsis

Aleksei, a Belarusian fleeing from his past, reaches Paris and enrolls in the Foreign Legion in order to obtain a French passport. In the Niger Delta, Jomo, a young revolutionary, is fighting against the oil companies that have devastated his village. His sister, Udoka, dreams of escaping, realizing that all is now lost. Their destinies will intertwine, transcending borders, life and death itself.

Born in Taranto in 1983, he lives and works between Paris and Madrid. He graduated from Le Fresnoy in France and his short films have received nominations and awards at numerous international festivals, including Oberhausen, Palm Springs, Clermont Ferrand, Viennale, Mar del Plata, Tampere, Indielisboa, Nouveau Cinéma Montreal, Winterthur, Angers, Turin and Lees. They have been broadcasted on television channels such as Canal+, Arte, France3, France2, Sky Art and SVT. Giacomo was an artist in Residence at the Cinéfondation of the Cannes Film Festival, at the Cité International des Arts in Paris and at the Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival. In 2022, he earned a nomination for the César Awards for his documentary, America.
